Dr Ravjit Sagoo Background

Dr Ravjit Singh Sagoo (MBChB, MSc, FRCR, MRCS, EBIR) earned his medical degree from the University of Birmingham Medical School in the United Kingdom in 2006. He went on to complete his residency and further subspecialty training in vascular and interventional radiology in Birmingham in 2017.

After 17 years in the United Kingdom, Dr Sagoo returned home to Nairobi, Kenya in 2018. Since then, he has been instrumental in developing interventional radiology services in the region, initially serving as Assistant Professor and Section Head of Interventional Radiology at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi.

Specialisation

Dr Sagoo focuses on treating uterine fibroids using a highly minimally invasive approach known as interventional radiology. Procedures that once required open surgery are now performed using advanced image guidance through a tiny incision in the skin. This technique supports faster recovery, fewer complications, and a more comfortable overall experience for patients

He is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists, a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, as well as a member of both the British Society of Interventional Radiologists and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe.
